I Event Description

Australia and Korea have unique, deep and long-established economic ties. Supportive frameworks, such as the Korean-Australian Free Trade Agreement (KAFTA), have worked to promote, liberalise and protect trade between the two countries significantly. Agricultural trade – think: food, wine and textiles - forms an important part of Australia’s commercial relationship with Korea, Australia’s fourth largest trading partner. Importantly and thankfully, cross-border disputes between Korea and Australia, generally and in agriculture specifically, are few and far between. Why is this? How can we maintain this? How can the agricultural relationship serve as an example for other sectors and trade relationships? It will also be an enjoyable occasion to show-case Australian agriculture, sharing some of the best of Australian food and wine.
