Overview
The new executive orders and directives introduced by the Trump Administration continue to have far-reaching implications for companies doing business in the U.S. The first session will cover some key developments in U.S. export control, tariff, sanction and immigration enforcement with a focus on how such developments may interact with force majeure, change of law and material adverse consequence (MAC) clauses in existing contractual relationships governed by US laws. In the second session, we will explore challenges involving parallel proceedings in multiple jurisdictions, drawing upon recent first-hand experiences from the U.S., Hong Kong, Singapore, and Korea.
• Session 1: Jurisdictional Clashes and Managing Parallel Proceedings—War Stories
• Session 2: US Regulatory Developments in export control, tariffs, sanctions and immigration enforcement – Implications for Korean Companies in Performing Contractual Obligations
