It is common that the main goal of a claimant in an international commercial arbitration is to get an award and collect the money owed. There are many considerations in determining the legal grounds and feasibility of proceeding with an arbitration, preparing for an arbitration and enforcing the award if you are successful. This program will address issues that every company, its corporate and external counsel and arbitration attorney should consider related to these legal and commercial perspectives, including determining whether an award will be collectable before investing significant time, effort and money in conducting an arbitration. Topics to be addressed in this session will include reviewing the basis of the claim, insurance considerations, issues from the arbitration institution perspective including interim relief, and enforcement, which ultimately impact the question of collectability of arbitration awards.  ​
